How it works
Six minutes of questions. Then a plan that fits.
Answer honestly, see the pattern connecting your answers, and know which skill to work on first. A few minutes a day after that.

- 01
Answer honestly for about six minutes.
Questions that adapt to your situation, so you skip the ones that don’t apply. No account and no payment.
- 02
Get your RQ profile.
Eight relationship skills, each scored on the same scale.
- 03
See the pattern underneath the scores.
How the eight connect: where you’re steady, where things tend to stall, and why.
- 04
Know what to focus on first.
The skill holding the others back becomes your focus, read for your situation and what you want to change.
- 05
Use short practices in real situations.
With Premium: a few minutes a day, exercises for the moments that go wrong, and a coach that knows your profile.
- 06
Retake later and see what changed.
The same questions, scored the same way, so you can see what actually moved.
The eight dimensions, and what moves them
All eight get a score. The lowest becomes your focus, and that’s where the plan starts.

Conflict & repair
Handling disagreement, and reconnecting afterwards.
What it can look like
“The argument ends, and nobody brings the problem up again.”
Practice this
Repair within 24 hours
- 1Name one thing you could have done better.
- 2Ask what the other person experienced.
- 3Agree on one thing to try differently.

Conflict & repair
What RelationQ tracks
- Conversations revisited
- Repairs attempted
- Agreements followed up
3 of 8. Counted, never graded
Your plan adapts to your situation.
The same score can mean something different depending on where you are and what you want to change. That’s why the assessment asks about both before it scores anything.
Where you are
Together, dating, unsure, separated, starting again.
What you want to change
Closeness, conflict, trust, boundaries, clarity, letting go.
Your RQ pattern
Eight dimensions, and the one holding the rest back.
Your personal plan
What to practise first, in your situation, a few minutes a day.
One low score, seven situations
Conflict & repair 62
- Where they are
- Together, and it’s going well
- What they want to change
- Keep it that way
Where the plan puts its attention
Keep small repairs quick, so good stretches stay good and friction doesn’t collect.
A first practice: After your next small disagreement, say one thing that helped.
Example. It shows how context changes what a score asks of you; your plan is built from your own answers.
Private by default
Your personal answers are never sold or used for advertising.
No guilt mechanics
No streaks to protect. Miss a day and nothing is taken away.
Your decisions stay yours
RelationQ doesn’t decide whether you should stay, leave or reconcile. It helps you see the pattern either way.
Safety comes first
Abuse isn’t treated as a communication problem. If your answers suggest you may not be safe, we stop and point you toward people trained to help.
If any of these stop being true, that's a bug, and we'd like to hear about it.
What it measures comes from published research.
RQ is our own framework and not a validated clinical instrument. The skills it scores are ones researchers have measured and linked to how relationships go. These are three of the studies behind them.
We use original items rather than copying validated questionnaires, and we don’t claim their validation as ours.

Relationship satisfaction is measurable, and short scales track it as well as long ones.

Interpersonal competence separates into distinct skills (initiation, disclosure, conflict management) rather than one general ability.
Buhrmester et al. (1988), Interpersonal Competence Questionnaire
doi:10.1037/0022-3514.55.6.991 - 03
Perceived partner responsiveness predicts relationship outcomes independently of satisfaction.

Progress doesn’t look dramatic. It looks different.
One conversation handled better. One boundary held. One old pattern caught before it ran its course.
Example stories, written around the patterns the assessment measures. They illustrate the kind of change the plan works towards; they are not customer reviews.
